On September 2, 2024, our CEO, Tadashi Tanimoto, gave a lecture at the “New Business Creation Seminar – Through Case Studies of Algae Industry,” organized by the Saga Algae Biomass Council. Held as the 12th Open Innovation Meeting at Hohoemi-kan in Saga City, the seminar welcomed approximately 50 participants, including online attendees.

As a leading company in the algae industry, Galdieria, Co., Ltd. bases its business on innovative technologies utilizing the algae Galdieria, working alongside prominent players domestically and internationally to contribute to a sustainable society. Tanimoto’s lecture, titled “The Founding Story and Future of Algae Venture ‘Galdieria,’” covered our proprietary mass cultivation techniques and highlighted the diverse applications of Galdieria in areas such as metal adsorption and as a protein source, which form the foundation of our technology.

Tanimoto also emphasized the importance of fundraising for venture companies, specifically noting that the funding from NEDO in 2023 significantly propelled our technological development and commercialization efforts. For more information on this funding, please refer to this press release.

Speakers from various industries also participated in the seminar. Yutaro Kamiya from Japan Management Association Consultants, Inc. (JMAC) presented on the challenges of commercialization, while Toshifumi Yokoo from the Regional Support Department at Saga Bank shared insights on funding strategies from regional financial institutions.
