On February 24, 2023, our CEO Hajime Tanimoto spoke at the event ‘Exploring Kyoto University Innovation @ Kento: Exploring the Future Society through the Utilization of Microalgae – Creating New Value Pursued by Algae Ventures.’

In this event, two successful venture companies focusing on the promising field of ‘microalgae’ took the stage to discuss the forefront of algae research and the expanding possibilities of its applications.

The event featured a collaboration between a Kyoto University-affiliated venture providing a ‘Microalgae Library Provision Service’ and another venture aiming to recover rare metals from metal waste solutions using extremophile microorganisms. The discussions covered the synergy arising from this collaboration, the history of joint research, key points for collaboration among ventures, and the potential future shape of society brought about by ‘microalgae’.
